It was also on version 12 and when I forced the Flash settings manager to check for an update it forced me to download a DMG then install version 13 myself.ī) Why is Flash installing versions side-by-side?Ĭ) Why isn't the latest version being used by IE? I looked at the mms.cfg file in C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash and see that Flash player is supposed to be updating itself in the background, regardless of user permission level.Ĭoincidentally, I checked the version of Flash on my Mac at home last night. If I uninstall version 12 manually and test with Internet Explorer it says there's no flash installed and wants to download / install it. Workstations now show both versions of ActiveX installed, however, Internet Explorer is only using version 12. I modified the GPO yesterday to add the Flash Player 13 (ActiveX) msi as an upgrade to version 12. Flash Player 12 (ActiveX) was installed via GPO in the past. Gah! I'm running into a very similar issue.
